Chanel was founded in Paris, France in 1910 by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. It translates fashion codes into a recognisable olfactory identity, and it offers a rare combination of mass recognition, formula discipline and enduring character. It belongs in the first chapter of any serious perfume education.
