Karl Lagerfeld's fragrance line began in France in 1978 with Lagerfeld Classic. The first perfume used tobacco, amber, herbs and woods in a rich masculine structure. Later licensed releases shifted with the market, but sharp bottle design and aromatic woods remained recurring links to the designer.
