Founded in New York in 1979 by Adolfo Sardiña. The Cuban-American designer, known for millinery and knitwear, licensed the scent alongside his ready-to-wear label. By 1993 the perfume licensing alone reportedly returned over $5 million wholesale through stores like Bloomingdale's and J.C. Penney.
